September, 2008

So, not quite yearly updates is the rule.  Hmm… what’s new… uh… well… OH YEAH, MAYA!!

Maya is 13 and ½ months old (last update was about 4 months ago).  She’s been walking since 10 months, now running, climbing, kicking, throwing, scribbling, etc., etc.  She loves dancing with big sister.  She understands most everything we say (including “sit for timeout”).  Her vocabulary is exploding (yes, NO, down, up, duck, bubble, Tete…).  Talents include keeping most food on her plate, spill-free drinking, animal noises (lion, dog, duck, wolf, gorilla, elephant and more).  She gives great kisses and hugs and tonight she started blowing kisses.

Elanor is climbing and sometimes scaring her parents (she gets higher than we can reach).  She knows her alphabet fully and reading some 3 and 4 letter words.  She can write a few letters, numbers and shapes.  She counts into the 30s in English and teens in Arabic, French and Spanish.  Hobbies include music, ballet (pirouettes and arabesque are her specialities), and crazy dancing.

We traveled mostly with family (Cleveland, Kansas City, Orlando, Chicago, Michigan).  Disney and Sea World were surprisingly great with toddlers.  We did make it to the Rose Family Reunion this year which was awesome.

Eyad is having fun at work.  Busy but good.  Emily has her hands full as a full time mom.  She finds a way to keep the girls active (dance, music, library story time, playgroups) and still cook good food and train for a 5K run.  Amazing woman.  Eyad is living a fairytale with such a wonderful woman and two great children.  We’re still debating the possibility of a 3rd little munchkin.

Ellie’s Birthday / Christmas, 2007: Everybody made it this year including Amo Bob, Aunt Heather and her boyfriend, Uncle Jaime.  Elanor blew out her candles on the first try.

Maya’s 1 year birthday was great.  She got a giant teddy bear to match the one Grandma Lanoue had made for Ellie.

As we get older, lazier and make more kids these updates get shorter and shorter!  Until next year…
